As 2019 draws to a close, I am delighted to announce that my next exhibition will be at Gallows Gallery in Perth in August 2020, showing alongside fabulous glass artist Margaret Heenan.

I held my first solo show ‘Little Pieces of Me‘ at Gallows Gallery in February 2018, where it was such a pleasure to work with the director Kathryn Stafford.

Kathryn is a second generation art dealer with over 30 years’ experience in the art industry in both WA and overseas. With a strong passion for Australian art, Kathryn took over the reins of the business in 2010 with one simple goal in mind. “I wanted to create a gallery that redefines the way in which Australian art is bought and sold. A space where artists love to exhibit and buyers love to visit…” .

Gallows Gallery is certainly a beautiful space with a light filled gallery, stockroom and courtyard. It’s nestled in Mosman Park, a western suburb in Perth, almost on the isthmus between the Swan river and the Indian Ocean.

I am proud to exhibit at Gallows Gallery as Kathryn represents some of Australia’s most prominent artists and many leading Western Australian artists.

I’m in countdown mode for my solo exhibition, Little Pieces of Me, which will show at Gallows Gallery from 2 -10 February.

Apart from being a huge effort, because it’s my first solo show, I am also really determined to raise awareness of Osteogenesis Imperfecta (brittle bones) through my work. The whole body of paintings are inspired by my association with the people who suffer from, and their families who live with, the effects of brittle bones, which usually means multiple breakages, operations and therapies. These people are so inspiring and no less the medical professionals who work tirelessly to find new therapies for this incurable condition and research its genesis.

I have a personal connection to OI, as my god-daughter has brittle bones. Claire loves to come and paint with me, so I’ve invited her to show one of her paintings at the exhibition and to auction it for the cause. I’d love you to come and see her work.

It’s been amazing to have the support of the OI team at Princess Margaret Hospital for this exhibition. You have the opportunity to meet some of the specialists and to learn more about OI at the Art + Medicine Talks that I am hosting at the gallery on Sunday 4 February at 2pm. Let me know if you can come:

When you buy one of my paintings, I will donate 10% of the sale price to this cause. Come to the exhibition or you can purchase online (from 3 Feb).

You can also donate directly to support this initiative via MyCause.

I love to hear from you, so please post comments below. Have a great day!
